NFL Week 11 Review

The Buffalo Bills were trailing the Bengals 28-7 midway through the 2nd quarter and 31-14 at half but 35 unanswered points in the 2nd half propelled the Bills to a 49-31 win in Cincinnati. The Bills got their 2nd win on the season while the Bengals lose their 7th straight. Ryan Fitzpatrick had 316 yards and four Td’s, Steve Johnson caught 8 receptions for 137 yards and 3 Td’s.

Jon Kitna threw three Td’s and ran for one more as the Cowboys beat the Lions 35-19. Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett is now 2-0 as a head coach and the Cowboys are flying high after their second straight win.

Mcnabb’s 376 passing yards helped lead the Redskins past the Titans in Overtime 19-16. Vince Young went out of the game in the 2nd half with an injured thumb and Clinton Portis was injured again in the win. Chris Johnson ran for 130 in the loss. Redskins get back to .500.

Chiefs crush the Cardinals 31-13 and maintain their lead atop the AFC West. Matt Cassel threw for 193 yards and two Td’s. Both of those Td’s went to receiver Dwayne Bowe.  Jamal Charles had 88 yards on the ground and Thomas Jones had two scores to help the chiefs.

Packers dominated Brett Farve and the Vikings. Aaron Rodger had just over 300 passing yards and four Td’s, wide receiver Greg Jennings caught 7 passes for 152 yards and three scores in the win. The Vikings had an early field goal but the Packers had 31 straight for the win and to tie the Bears atop the NFC North. This loss all but eliminates the Vikings from the playoffs.

Mark Sanchez hit Santonio Holmes in the corner of the end zone with ten seconds left in the game to get the win for the Jets over the Texans 30-27. Sanchez had a huge day, 316 yards and three Td’s and Holmes had 126 with a couple of scores. Texans fall to last in the AFC South while the Jets try and keep pace with the Patriots.

The Steelers defense shut down the Oakland offense as the Steelers win 35-3. The Raiders had only 182 total yards compared to the Steelers 431. DE Richard Seymour was ejected from the game in the first half after slapping Ben Roethlisberger. Big Ben had 275 through the air and had three Td passes for the Steelers. The Steelers move to 7-3 while the Raiders fall back to 5-5.

Baltimore’s defense took two Brain St. Pierre picks back to the end zone as the Ravens went on to win 37-13. The Ravens stay tied with the Steelers atop the AFC North at 7-3 while the Panthers fall to a league worst 1-9.

Maurice Jones-Drew’s 219 all purpose yards helped lead the Jaguars past the Browns 24-20. David Gerrard and Jones-Drew helped the Jaguars advance to 6-4 on the season and remain in the playoff picture while the 
Browns lose their second straight and fall to 3-7 on the season.

The New England Patriots held on to beat the Colts 31-28. Payton Manning and the Colts scored 14 straight in the 4th quarter and were driving at end of the fourth quarter before Manning was intercepted at the New England 10. The New England’s defense intercepted Payton Manning three times in the game. Manning though threw for 396 yards and four Td’s, Brady threw for only 186 and 2 Td’s but had help on the ground from Danny Woodhead and Benjarvus Green-Ellis. The Colts fall to 6-4 on the season while the Patriots get to 8-2 and stay tied with the Jets atop the AFC East.

Buccaneers shut out the 49ers 21-0 as they get their 7th win of the season and remain 2nd in the NFC South. Tampa Bay defense cause two turnovers and Quarterback Josh Freemen threw for two Td’s to help lead the Buc’s.

Drew Brees led the Saints past the Seahawks. The Saints took over in the 2nd quarter and never looked back as they win 34-19. Drew Brees threw for 396 and four Td’s in the win while Matt Hasselbeck threw for 366 in a losing effort. The Saints go to 7-3 on the season while the Seahawks drop to 5-5.

Falcons slow down Sam Bradford and the Rams to win 34-17. Matt Ryan had 253 yards and two Td’s and Running back Michael Turner rushed for 131 and a touchdown. The Falcons defense held star running back Stephen Jackson to a modest 54 yards on the day. Falcons go to 8-2 while the Rams lose their second straight and fall to 4-6.



Mike Vick and the Eagles fight off the Giants comeback to win 27-17. New York scored 14 straight to take a 17-16 lead over the Eagles but LeSean McCoy’s 50 run put the Eagles back up by 7 and the Eagles defense recovered a  Eli Manning fumble to help them secure the win. Mike Vick had 258 passing yards and LeSean McCoy had 111 yards rushing with a score. Eagles take the NFC East lead with a 7-3 record.
