Daily Sports Recap

NBA

The Wizards knocked off the struggling Trailblazers 83-79. Andray Blatche had a game high 19 for the Wizards. Brandon Roy had 18 and LaMarcus Aldridge added 16 and 15 rebounds for the Blazers.

Andrea Bargnani's double double lifts the Raptors past the Durant-less Thunder. Bargnani had 26 points and 12 rebounds while Leandro Barbosa added 22 more for the Raptors. Russell Westbrook and James Harden both had 20 for the Thunder.

The Bobcats get past the Nets 91-84 in overtime. Stephen Jackson had 25 and Boris Diaw had 11 points and 16 rebounds for the Bobcats. Travis Outlaw led the Nets with 21.

The Hawk's kept rolling as they beat the 76ers 93-88. Marvin Williams had a game high 22 for the Hawks and Al Hortford added 15 and 14 rebounds. Elton Brand had 16 points and 14 boards for the 76ers.

The Magic get the win over the Pistons 104-91 despite losing Dwight Howard, Jameer Nelson and J.J. Reddick to a stomach virus. Vince Carter had 25 and Martin Gortat had 14 and 11 rebounds for the Magic. Tayshaun Prince had a game high 30 in the loss.

Kevin Garnett's and Rajon Rondo's double-doubles help the Celtics get past the Bulls 104-92. Garnett had 20 points and 17 rebounds while Rondo had 12 points and 19 assists. Derrick Rose led the Bulls with 20.

Amare Stoudemire had another big game to lead the Knicks past the Hornets 100-92. Stoudemire had 34 points and 10 rebounds and Raymond Felton added 17 more and 13 assists. Trevor Ariza had 21 points for the Hornets while Chris Paul had 17 points and 10 assists.

The Rockets use a big first half to beat the Grizzlies 127-111. Kevin Martin had 28 points, Kyle Lowry had 28 and 12 assists and Brad Miller added 23 more for the Rockets. Rudy Gay had a game high 29 for the Grizzlies.

The Spurs out scored the Timberwolves 36-15 in the 4th quarter to secure the 107-101 win. Tim Duncan had 22 points and 10 rebounds while George Hill and Tony Parker both had 20 in the win. Michael Beasley had a game high 29 and Kevin Love had 28 and 18 rebounds for the Timberwolves.

The Nuggets slowed down Blake Griffin to get the 107-104 win over the Clippers. Carmelo Anthony had a game high 26 and J.R. Smith added 21 more for the Nuggets. Eric Gordon led the Clippers with 24.

The Suns dominated the 4th quarter as they beat the Pacers 105-97. Channing Frye had 29 and Jason Richardson added 21 more for the Suns. Brandon Rush led the Pacers with 21.

The Lakers stopped their four game skid as they beat the Kings 113-80. Kobe led the way with 22 and Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom both added 16 more. Jason Thompson had 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Kings.

The Mavericks got their 8th straight win, this time over the Jazz 93-81. Dirk had 26 and Caron Butler added 16 more for the Mav's. Paul Millsap had a team high 21 for the Jazz while Al Jefferson added 18 more.

College Basketball

#5 Kansas St barley gets past Washington St 63-58. Curtis Kelly and Rodney McGruder both had 15 for the Wildcats while Klay Thompson led Washington St with a game high 16.

Kemba Walker got his first triple double as #9 UConn blows by UMBC 94-61. Walker had 24 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists for the Huskies. Travis King led UMBC with 14 points.

#12 Villanova beat Philadelphia rival St. Joseph 71-60. Corey Stokes led the Wildcats with 17 and Antonio Pena added 14 points a 12 rebounds in the win. Carl Jones had a game high 19 for the Hawks.


NHL

Brandon Sutter's goal in overtime propels Carolina past Colorado 2-1.

The Rangers beat the Islanders for the second day in a row, this time with a shutout as they win 2-0.

Ryan Miller's shutout helps the Bruins knock down the Blue Jackets 5-0.

The Flames get past the Wild 3-2 in a shootout despite Niklas Backstrom's 30 saves.

Luongo and the Canucks shut out the defending Stanley Cup Champs 3-0. Luongo had 32 saves.

Howard's 40 saves help the Redwings blank the Ducks 4-0. Johan Franzen had two points in the win.
