Daily Sports Recap

NFL

Mike Vick's three touchdowns help propel the Eagles past the Texans 34-24. Vick had 302 passing yards and two touchdowns and added 49 on the ground and a score in the win. The Eagles now move atop the NFC East with their win as they advance to 8-4. Matt Schaub had 337 yards and two touchdowns and Andre Johnson caught six passes for 149 yards in the loss. The Texans now fall to 5-7 on the year and last in the AFC South.

College Football

Arizona St  blocked two PAT to beat #23 Arizona 30-29. The first block came with 27 seconds left in the game after a Arizona touchdown to tie the score up at 20 and Arizona would have taken the lead with the PAT but instead it was sent to OT. The other was at the end of the 2nd overtime as  Arizona scored a touchdown to bring it to a 30-29 game and just needed a PAT to send it into a 3rd OT Arizona St's special teams blocked another one. Arizona St moves to 6-6 on the season while Arizona drops to 7-5. Quarterback Brock Osweiler threw for 267 yards and a touchdown while Kerry Taylor caught six passes for 112 yards for the Sun Devils. Quarterback Nick Foles led the Wildcats with 262 passing yards and three touchdowns.

NBA


Despite all the boo's and jeers LeBron had a season high 38 to lead the Heat past the Cavaliers 118-90. It didn't take long for LeBron to score as he had the first points of the game. The Heat have now won three in a row and move to 12-8 on the season. Wade added 22 more for the Heat in the win. Daniel Gibson led the Cav's with 21.

Monta Ellis's 38 points weren't enough as the Warriors fall to the Suns 101-108. Jason Richardson had 25, Grant Hill added 24 more and Steve Nash had 13 and 16 assists for the Suns. David Lee added 25 for the Warriors.

College Basketball

#4 Kansas survives UCLA 77-76 thanks to a questionable foul call with a second left. UCLA hit a three with four seconds left to tie up the game. Kansas then came down the court and Mario Little was fouled by Malcom Lee with a second left in the game.  Mario Little hit the first free thrown then missed the second and the desperation attempt at the buzzer for UCLA was no good. Tyshawn Taylor and Tyrel Reed both had 17 points and Marcus Morris added 16 more for the Jayhawks. Tyler Honeycutt had a game high 33 for the Bruins.

#8 Missouri withstood Oregon's huge 2nd half comeback attempt to win 83-80. The Tigers led by 20 at the half but E.J. Singler and the Ducks fell just short. Singler had 19 while Marcus Denmon had 19 for the Tigers.

LaceDarius Dunn's six three pointers help #10 Baylor get past Arizona St 68-54. Dunn had a game high 24 for the Bears and Rihards Kuksiks led the Sun Devils with 13.

NHL


Boston blows out Tampa Bay 8-1. Thomas had 37 saves and David Krejci had two goals for the Bruins.

The Canadiens started out strong and never looked back as they beat the Devils 5-1.

Rangers got past Islanders 6-5. Marian Gaborik had a hat trick for the Rangers.

Crosby scored all three goals for the Penguins as they beat the Thrashers 3-2.

Maple Leafs get shutout again, this time to the Oilers 5-0. Taylor Hall had two goals for the Oilers.

Stars get their 5th straight win as they get past the Capitals 2-1.

The Sharks shutout the Senators 4-0 to get their 12th win of the season. Logan Couture had two goals in the win.

The Kings scored two goals in the 3rd period to beat the Panthers 3-2.
