NFL Week 14 review

The Bills upset the Browns thanks to three turnovers and 112 yards on the ground from Fred Jackson. The Bills are now 3-10 on the season while the Browns fall to 5-8 and the loss basically ruins their playoff chances. Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 142 yards and a touchdown in the win while Peyton Hillis had 108 yards on the ground for the Browns.

The Lions score a touchdown in the 4th to upset the Packers 7-3 without Aaron Rodgers, who had a concussion in the first half. Both teams had under 300 total yards but the Matt Stanton's touchdown pass sealed the deal. The Packers fall to 8-5 on the season and 2nd in the NFC North while the Lions get to 3-10.

The Steelers defense cause three turnovers, including a Troy Polomalu pick six and a Lamar Woodley pick six, as they go on to beat the Bengals 23-7. Ben Roethlisbeger has 258 yards through the air and Hines Ward caught 8 passes for 115 yards in the win. The Bengals have now lost 10 straight and fall to 2-11 on the season while the Steelers stay atop the AFC North at 10-3.

The Redskins potential game tying PAT with 9 seconds left was blocked and the Buccaneers hold on to beat them 17-16. Josh Freeman had 266 yards and a touchdown and Arrelious Benn caught 4 passes for 122 yards for the Buc's in the win. Donovan McNabb had 228 passing yards and two TD's while Ryan Torian had 172 yards rushing in the loss. The Buc's go to 8-5 on the season and they are very much still in the playoff picture while the Redskins fall to 5-8.

Micheal Turner ran in three touchdowns to lead the Falcons past the Panthers 31-10. The Falcons now move to an NFC best 11-2 and are looking for the #1 seed and home field advantage throughout the playoffs while the Panthers fall to a miserable 1-12. Matt Ryan had 227 yards and a touchdown pass while Jonathon Stewart had 133 yards on the ground for the Panthers in the loss.

The Jaguars scored 31 second half points to get past the Raiders 38-31. Mauirce Jones-Drew had a 30 yard touchdown scamper with 1:30 left in the 4th to help the Jag's take the lead. David Garrad threw three touchdown passes in the game. Jason Campbell's 324 yards and two touchdowns and Darren McFadden 123 yards and two scores on the ground weren't enough for the Raiders. The Raiders fall to 6-7 while the Jag's stay atop the AFC South at 8-5.

Drew Brees' three touchdowns passes lead the Saints past the Rams 31-10. The Saints are trying to keep pace with the division leading Falcons while the Rams stay atop the NFC West with their 6-7 record because the Seahawks also lost. This could be the first season that a team goes sub .500 and still end up making the playoffs.

Alex Smith threw three touchdowns and the 49ers defense forced five turnovers as they go on to beat the Seahawks 40-21 and to stay in contention in the NFC West. The Seahawks still stay tied atop the NFC West despite their 6-7 record while the 49ers are a game behind and most likely need to win out to secure a playoff spot.

The Patriots forced four turnovers and Tom Brady had another big game as the Patriots beat the Bears 36-7 in the blizzard weather. Tom Brady threw for 369 and two touchdowns despite the 30+ mph winds and Deion Branch had 151 yards and a touchdown receiving. The Patriots stay atop the AFC with their 11-2 record and are looking towards clinching that home field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Bears still stay atop the NFC North because of the Packers loss to the Lions.

Despite only having 131 yards of total offense the Dolphins upset the Jets 10-6. The Jets have now lost two straight and are falling out of contention in the AFC East while the Dolphins are trying to keep their playoff hope alive with a 7-6 record. Mark Sanchez went 17-44 with 216 yards and a interception in the loss.

Tim Hightower rushed for 148 yards and two scores, Jay Feely kicked 5 field goals, and the Cardinals defense forced six turnovers to help the Cardinals knock off the Broncos 43-13. This was the first week with John Skelton under center for the Cardinals and he threw for 146 yards. The Cardinals move to 4-9 on the season while the Broncos drop to 3-10.

The Chargers shutout the Chiefs 31-0 and keep climbing closer to a playoff spot. Phillip Rivers threw for 226 yards and two touchdowns while the Chargers defense held the Chiefs to an embarrassing 67 total offensive yards. Matt Cassel was injured but is expected back by next week for the Chiefs. The Chiefs still hold a one game lead over the Chargers in the AFC West Division.

The Eagles used a 13 point 4th quarter to get past the Cowboys 30-27. Mike Vick had another great game but DeSean Jackson stole the show with 210 receiving yards on 4 catches and a unbelievable 91 yard touchdown. Vick had 270 yards and two touchdowns through the air while LeSean McCoy had 149 yards on the ground for the Eagles. The Eagles stay atop the NFC East with their 9-4 record while the Cowboys drop to 4-9.

Giants take on the Vikings in Detroit after the collapse of the roof in Minnesota.
