Friday Sports Action

NBA

76ers beat the Bucks 90-79, Thaddeus Young drops 23 for the 76ers.

Heat survive a comeback attempt by the Bobcats and win 95-87. Stephen Jackson's 30 points aren't enough to beat the Heat. Lebron has 32 and Bosh has 22 with 14 boards.

Arenas has season high of 24 as the Wizards knock off Memphis 89-86. Kirk Hinrich adds 22 for the Wizards.

Durant injures ankle early but Thunder hold on for a 89-84 win over the Celtics. Russell Westbrook has 31 as Celtics lose first game at home this year.

Hornets beat the Cavs 108-101. David West has 34 along with 11 rebounds and Chris Paul also get a double double as he scores 15 and dishes out 10 assists.

Lakers dominate the Timberwolves 112-95. Matt Barnes had 24 and Kobe had a modest 23 as the Lakers move to 11-2 on the season.

Tim Duncan passes Spurs scoring record as the Spurs pass up the Jazz 92-84. Duncan has 19 points and 14 rebounds while Tony Parker adds 24 and Manu Ginobili has 15. Deron Williams has 23 for the Jazz.

Kevin Martin's 31 points not enough for Houston to beat the Raptors. Andrea Bargnani has 26 points.

Dirk's 36 points aren't enough for the Mavs to beat the Bulls. Derrick Rose had 22 to lead the Bulls and Taj Gibson had 17 points 18 boards as the Bulls maintain their lead atop the Central Division.

Evans leads the Kings with 20 as they beat the Nets 86-81. Kris Humphries had a double double for the Nets (18,10).

There was plenty of scoring in this one. The Knicks had 72 by halftime and finished off the night winning 125-119 over the Warriors. Raymond Felton had 35 points and 11 dimes for the Knicks and Amare Stoudemire added 26 points and 11 boards. For the Warriors Monta Ellis had 40 points and Stephen Curry had 29 along with 8 assists.

NCAA Basketball

#1 Duke almost doubles Colgate 110-58. Five Duke players had double digit points. Pre Season All American Kyle Singler led the team with 18.

#4 Pittsburgh wins a close one vs. #22 Texas in NYC. Ashton Gibbs had 24 for the Panthers and Hamilton had another great night for the Longhorns as he had a game high 28 in a losing effort.

#6 Kansas beats North Texas 90-63. Marcus Morris led all scorers with 20 on the night.

#8 North Carolina fell to Minnesota 67-72 in Puerto Rico. North Carolina's freshmen Harrison Barnes had only 6 points and 7 boards in the Loss. Minnesota's Blake Hoffarber had a game high 20.

#13 Kentucky flies past Portland 79-48. The Wildcats move to 2-0 on the season. Freshmen sensation Brandon Knight had 21 to lead all scorers.

#16 Illinois bounces back with 80-76 win over the Maryland Terrapins. Demitri Mclamby had 20 points for the Fighting Illini.

#21 Georgetown is led by star point guard Chris Wright as they beat Woffard. Chris Wright had a team high 18 points and Wofford's Noah Dahlman had a game high 19 points.

NCAA Football



Boise State runs and throws past Fresno St. in a dominating fashion..51-0. Kellen Moore passed for 333 yards and 4 touchdowns and the Boise St defense shutout the Fresno St. offense. Boise keeps their BCS title hopes alive as they advance to 10-0 while Fresno St falls to 6-4.

NHL

Flames blowout the reigning Stanley Cup champs, Chicago Blackhawks 7-2. Jerome Iginla has a hat trick for the Flames.

Penguins beat the Hurricanes 5-4 in a shootout. Crosby had a goal in regular time and had the game winning goal in the Shootout to secure the win for the Penguins.

The Thrashers shutout the Capitals 5-0. A balanced scoring attack for the Thrashers leads them to their 8th win this season.

Wild upset the Redwings in overtime. John Madden had the game winning goal in Overtime for the Wild as they climb to 3rd in the Northwest division.


Miller's 34 saves against the Kings help propel the Sabers towards their 8th win of the year.

St. Louis scores 5 against the Senators. St Louis. The Blues move into 2nd in the Central division.

Phoenix beats a struggling Edmonton team in a shootout 4-3. Dubnyk's 39 saves weren't enough for the Oilers who have only 4 wins on the season.

Colorado scores 5 against the Rangers. Colorado got scoring from 5 different players and Anderson let in only one as they move into 2nd in the Northwest division.

Blue Jackets hold on to beat the Anaheim Ducks 4-3. Rick Nash had his 9th goal of the season in the win.
