Daily Sports Recap

NBA

Josh Smith's triple double helps the Hawks get past the Raptors 96-78. Smith had 12 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists and Marvin Williams had a game high 17 for the Hawks. Andrea Bargnini led the Raptors with 14.

Knicks outlast the Pistons 125-116 in double overtime. Amare Stoudemire led the Knicks with 37 points and 15 rebounds while Raymond Felton added 23 and 11 assists. Tayshaun Prince had a team high 31 for the Pistons.

Spurs come back from 17 down to beat the Hornets 109-95. Manu Ginobli led the Spurs with 23 and Tim Duncan added 21. David West had 23 for the Hornets.

Blake Griffin's 35 points and 14 rebounds weren't enough as the Jazz beat the Clippers 109-97. Deron Williams led the Jazz with 26 points and 9 assists.

Rockets hold off a late rally from the Thunder to win 99-98. Kevin Martin again led the Rockets with 23. Russell Westbrook led the Thunder with 23 and 10 assists and Kevin Durant had 18.

Nets stop their skid as they beat the Trailblazers 98-96. Devin Harris had 25 for the Nets and Wesley Matthews had 25 for the Trailblazers.

Nuggets outscore the Suns 138-133. Both teams shot 51% from the field in the high scoring contest. J.R. Smith had 30 points and Chauncey Billups added 25 more for the Nuggets. The Suns were led by Jason Richardson who had 39 and 10 boards and Steve Nash added 17 more and 11 assists.

Kobe's 41 not enough as the Pacers upset the Lakers 95-92. Roy Hibbert led the Pacers with 24 points and he also grabbed 12 boards while Danny Granger added 18 more. Lamar Odom had 15 and 11 boards and Pau Gasol had 13 and 12 boards.

College Basketball

Durrell Summers has 21 for #2 Michigan St as they beat Tennessee Tech 73-55. Michigan St will take on #1 Duke next.

#14 Missouri improves to 5-0 after a 91-63 win over Arkansas Pine Bluff. Laurence Bowers and Kim English led the Tigers with 8 a piece while Dominic Moore led Pine Bluff with 15 and 11 boards.

Florida St killed Florida in football yesterday but today #14 Florida knocked off instate rival Florida St 55-51. Kenny Boyton had a team high 15 for the Gators while Michael Snaer had 15 for the Seminoles.

#20 Temple losses their second in the Old Spice Classic, this time to Texas A&M 54-51. David Loubeau led the Aggies with 13 while Lavoy Allen and Juan Fernandez led the Owls wit h10 apiece.

#24 North Carolina squeaks past Charleston 74-69. John Henson had a team high 19 for the Tar Heels and Andrew Goudelock had a game high 28 for Charleston.

Notre Dame advances to 7-0 thanks to a 15-0 run in route to a 58-51 win over Wisconsin. Tim Abromaitis led the Irish with 12 points and 9 rebounds while Jon Leuer had 19 for the Badgers.

Boston College beats Cal 68-46. Joe Trapani had 12 points and 8 rebounds for BC and Jorge Gutierrez had 12 for Cal.

UNLV advances to 6-0 on the season as they beat Virginia Tech 71-59. Chance Stanback had 17 for the Rebels while Malcolm Delaney had a game high 30 for the Hokies.

NHL

The Redwings took over the West lead as they beat the Blue Jackets 4-2 despite Mason's 38 saves.

Capitals get past the Hurricanes 3-2 in a shootout to win their 17th of the year. Alexander Semin netted his 18th goal of the season.

Dustin Byfuglien four points help lead the Thrashers past the Bruins 4-1.

Soccer

Newcastle tied Chelsea 1-1 thanks to another Andrew Carroll goal. After the draw Man U took over as leaders in the Premier league.

Tottenham beats Liverpool 2-1 thanks to Aaron Lennon's goal in injury time.

Inter Milan scores 5 goals as they beat Parma 5-2. Dejan Stankovic had a hat trick for Inter.
