Daily Sports Recap

NBA

Hawks end the Knicks five game win streak with a 99-90 win. Jamal Crawford led the Hawks with 21. Amare Stoudemire had 24 points and 10 boards for the Knicks.
Dwight Howard’s put back with only seconds left on the clock helped the Magic beat the wizards 100-99. Howard led the Magic with 32 points and 11 rebounds and Quentin Richardson added 20 more for the Magic. Gilbert Arenas led the Wizards with 31.

Mo Williams’s 25 points and 12 assists helped the Cavaliers beat the Grizzlies 92-86. Rudy Gay had a team high 17 for the Grizzlies.

76ers use huge 4th quarter to beat the Nets 102-86. Jrue Holiday had a team high 20 points for the 76ers and he also added 13 assists while Elton Brand added 14 more and 10 boards. Brook Lopez had a game high 25 for the Nets.

The Warriors beat the Timberwolves 104-94 thanks to 9 three pointers from Dorell Wright. Wright finished the game with 30 points and Monta Ellis added 26 for the Warriors. Michael Beasley had a team high 28 for the Wolves and Kevin Love had 21 points and 22 rebounds.

The Big 3 all had good games yet the Heat still fall to the Mavericks 106-95. Caron Butler had 23, Dirk had 22, and Tyson Chandler added 14 and 17 rebounds for the Mavs. Lebron had 23 while Wade and Bosh had 22 apiece. Heat fall to 9-8 and 2-5 on the road.

Brandon Jennings had 32 points as the Bucks beat the Bobcats 104-101. John Salmons added 16 more for the Bucks while D.J. Augustin had a team high 26 for the Bobcats and Dominic McGuire added 13 more and grabbed 15 rebounds.

Bulls outscored the Kings 52-28 in the second half to win 96-85. Derrick Rose had 30 points in his comeback and Luol Deng added 22 more. Jason Thompson had a team high 18 for the Kings.

College Basketball

Kyle Singler had 30 points as #1 Duke blew by Oregon 98-71. Nolan Smith added 16 more for the Blue Devils while Joevan Catron had a team high 18 for the Ducks.

#5 Pittsburgh goes to 7-0 on the season as they beat Penn 82-58. Ashton Gibbs had a team high 12 for the balanced scoring Panthers as Miles Cartwright had a game high 22 for the Quakers.

#6 Kansas had 6 players score in double figures to help them neat Arizona 87-79. Marcus Morris led the Jayhawks again with 16 while Derrick Williams had a game high 27 for the Wildcats.

Kevin Anderson’s 28 points help Richmond upset #8 Purdue 65-54. E’Twaun Moore had a team high 16 and JaJaun Johnson had 13 and 11 boards in the loss.

#10 Syracuse holds on to beat Georgia Tech 80-76. Kris Joseph led the Orange again with 19 and forward Rick Jackson had 10 points and 14 rebounds. Brian Oliver had a game high 32 for the Yellow Jackets.

Austin Freemen scored 32 as #16 Georgetown got past UNC-Ashville 87-72. J.P. Primm had a team high 17 for Ashville.

Illinois started out quick and cruised to an easy win as they beat Western Michigan 78-63. Mike Tisdale led the Illini with 18 while Matt Stainbrook had a team high 16 for the Broncos.

#21 Texas barely got past Rice 62-59. Corey Joseph had a game high 14 for the Longhorns and Tristan Thompson added 10 and grabbed 10 boards. Arsalan Kazemi had a team high 13 for Rice.




Evansville upset #23 Butler 71-68 in overtime. Kenny Harris led the Ace’s with 17 while Matt Howard led the Bulldogs with 19 and 13 rebounds.

NHL

Johan Hedberg had 40 saves to help the Devils beat the Flyers 2-1 in a shootout.

Sydney Crosby nets a hat trick to help the Penguins win their 5th straight, this time over the Flames 4-1.

The Canadiens knock off the Sabers 3-1 thanks to two goals from Brian Gionta.

The Senators shutout the Maple Leafs 3-0. Mike Fisher had two goals for the Senators.

The Stars scored two goals in the 3rd period to beat the Blues 2-1.

The Panthers slip past the Lightning 4-3 in a shootout. Tomas Vokoun had 34 saves for the Panthers.

Bobby Ryan had a hat trick for the Ducks as they beat the Coyotes 6-4.

Erik Christensen’s goal in the shootout helped the Rangers beat the Predators 2-1.

The Avalanche stopped a three game skid to beat the Wild 7-4. Greg Mauldin had two goals for the 

Avalanche while Kyle Brodziak had two for the Wild.

Dany Heatley’s two goals help the Sharks get past the Oilers 4-3.

Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp both score to help the Blackhawks pats the Kings 2-1. 

Soccer

Aresenal bounced back to beat Aston Villa 4-2. Andrei Arshavin had a goal for the Gunners.

Dimitar Berbatov had five, yes five, goals for Manchester United as they beat Blackburn 7-1.

Manchester City tied Stoke 1-1.

Bayern Munich got past Eintracht Frankfurt 4-1 thanks to two goals from Anatoliy Tymoschuk and a goal from Thomas Muller.

Robinho goal helps AC Milan tie Sampdoria 1-1.
