Melvin Ingram, South Carolina: The 6'2, 280 pound DE became only the third player since 2006 to score a touchdown on both offense and defense. He started his big night off by scampering 68 yards after a fake punt and then finished off his night in the forth quarter after picking up a fumble and heading in for six.

Case Keenum, Houston: Case is back to his old ways down in Houston as he helped lead the Cougars to a big 48-23 win over North Texas. Case put up more godly numbers while throwing for 458 yards and 5 touchdowns in the win.

Tyler Bray, Tennessee: The sophomore played very well in his first test for the 2011 season. Cincinnati came to town and Bray played almost perfect. He went 34-41 while throwing for 405 yards and 4 touchdowns in a big 45-23 win for the Vols.

Marcus Lattimore, South Carolina: The Heisman candidate in Columbia always comes to play. Lattimore carried the Gamecocks to a huge win on the road over Georgia with his 27 carry, 176 yard and one touchdown performance. When they needed yards they handed the ball off to their workhorse.

Taylor Martinez, Nebraska: The Cornhuskers usually stout "blackshirts" defense struggled throughout the night against Fresno St but Martinez and the offense carried them to a come from behind 42-29 win. Martinez finished the night with 385 total yards (219 passing and 166 rushing) along with three touchdowns(1 pass and 2 rush).

Paul Richardson, Colorado: Richardson had a humongous day on the outside vs Cal. The 6'1 sophomore finished the night with 11 catches for 284 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Pac-12 secondaries better be looking out for the stud from Boulder.

Denard Robinson, Michigan: The speedy quarterback did more with his arm in the Wolverine's huge comeback thriller under the lights in Ann Arbor. "Shoelace" and the Wolverines trailed 7-24 heading into the 4th quarter but rallied to score 28 of the last 35 points and to get the upset win over the Irish. Robinson ended the game with 338 passing yards, 4 touchdowns, 108 rushing yards, a rushing touchdown. His great night was capitalized by the game winning TD pass with 2 seconds left.

T.Y Hilton, Florida International: I do not think the Louisville secondary got the memo that Hilton was a stud. He ended the night with 201 receiving yards and two touchdowns of 74 and 83 yards along with having 67 yards on two kickoff returns. Hilton currently leads the nation in receiving yards with 333.

Ryan Smith, Auburn: The backup safety for the Tigers helped preserve their 17 game win streak. Chris Relf had the Mississippi St Bulldogs driving and was looking at the promise land before Smith came out of no where and upended Relf just inches short of the goal line as time expired.

Player of the Week:

Robert Griffin, Baylor: The dual threat quarterback started off the Labor Day weekend with a bang after he lead his Baylor Bears to a huge win over instate rival and 14th ranked TCU on Friday night. Griffin finished the night with 359 passing yards, 5 touchdowns, a 250.6 efficiency rating and as a major Heisman candidate. Griffin also showed his superior athleticism while rushing for 38 yards and even catching a 15 yard pass. 

Others that impressed: 

Ray Graham, Pittsburgh: No more Dion Lewis in the backfield so the load will now be on the shoulders of Ray Graham. Graham did everything to prove that the Panthers running game will be just fine. The junior carried the Panthers to a 35-16 win over Buffalo thanks to 201 yards on the ground to go along with three touchdowns.

David Wilson, Virginia Tech: Virginia Tech lost their top two running backs to the NFL, Ryan Williams and Darren Evans, but no one would have noticed if they looked at the box score. Wilson came in and ran for 162 yards on 16 carries while getting into the end zone three times in the Hokies big win over Appalachian St. 

Nick Foles, Arizona: We knew that Foles was going to have a big season and with his 412 yard, 5 touchdown performance he is off to a good start. Look for this ariel attack to continue all season long for the Wildcats.

Robert Woods, USC: The sophomore receiver broke a USC record of 17 receptions in a game as the Trojans beat Minnesota 19-17. To go along with his 17 receptions Woods caught three touchdowns and had a career high 177 receiving yards. Look for the Barkley to Woods connection to continue throughout the season.

Malcolm Agnew, Oregon St: For the last three seasons Jacquizz Rodgers has been in the backfield for the Beavers but now the running game relies on a freshman. Even though the Beavers got embarssingly upset by Sacramento St they look set in the backfield after Agnew's 223 yard, three touchdown performance. 

Joe Adams, Arkansas: Adams came into the season as one of Tyler Wilson's top targets but he is on this list because of his job in the return game. Adams brought two punts returns of 60+ yards to the house in the Razorbacks big win over Missouri St.

Brandon Herron, Michigan: The Senior linebacker had a very impressive day in helping Brady Hoke get his first win in Ann Arbor. Herron gave the Wolverines their first lead of the game thanks to a 94 yard pick six. In the third quarter Herron continued to impress as he put the Wolverines even further ahead with a 28 yard fumble recovery. Herron also recorded eight tackles. To make this even more impressive, Herron did all of this in just three quarters.
