College Basketball Weekly report

Teams of the Week:
Florida State:
After the Blue Devils got through their non conference schedule and headed into ACC conference play many thought that they would finish the season unbeaten because of how week the ACC was. Duke was the only ranked team in the ACC and several of their tougher games were played at Cameron. But in came the Seminoles and they left with a 66-61 win and showed everyone in the College Basketball world that Duke is mortal. Florida St then ran by North Carolina St in a 84-71 win and they now stand atop the ACC with a 3-1 record and 13-5 total. Lets hope that this is the spark they need to make a run into the tourney or is this just a fluke.

Others:

Penn State:
The Nittany Lions had a tough loss on Saturday to Ohio St but still played an amazing week. They started off the week with a win over Michigan St and then added on another win vs a top 25 team when they beat Illinois. They later had a tough test against second ranked Ohio St on the road and came so close but Jared Sullinger was too much as they lost 66-69. This proved to to other Big Ten teams that the Penn St game isn't an automatic win anymore.

San Diego State:
Many thought that this could be the week that their undefeated record would end because they were taking on a very good UNLV team and another good team in New Mexico on the road. San Diego St pulled through big time and impressed us all with two big wins. Next up Jimmer Fredette and the ninth ranked BYU Cougars on the road..

Player of the Week:
Jimmer Fredette (BYU)
He only had one game this week but his 47 point performance vs a tough instate rival Utah was one to remember. Fredette had 32 alone in the first half and there was no answer as he carried his team past the century mark to a 104-79 win. With the 47 point game he moved past Kemba Walker as the leading scorer in the nation with 26.1 ppg. If your from the Mountain West and you take on BYU soon you will need to find out away to stop Jimmer Fredette, if its possible.

Others:

D.J. Gray: San Diego St
The point guard had over half the Aztecs points, 30, in their 55-49 win over UNLV. He also shot 7-11 from behind the arc in the win.

Terrence Jones: Kentucky
The Freshman came off the bench and scored a UK freshman record 35 points and pulled in eight rebounds to help the Wildcats beat Auburn 78-54.

Marcus Morris: Kansas
He had career highs in a 84-79 win over Iowa St. The Junior had 33 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in the win and then a few days later had another double double with 16 points and 11 rebounds in 63-60 win over Nebraska.
