College Football Week 12 Recap


#5 LSU wins a shootout with Ole Miss 43-36. Jordan Jefferson had a huge game through the air with 254 yards and TD. LSU keeps its hopes alive at getting to the National Title game.

#6 Stanford's offensive is too much as they get past California 48-14. Quarterback Andrew Luck threw for 235 and 2 Tds to help lead the Cardinal past the Golden Bears. Stanford is still hoping for that Rose Bowl appearance in January.

#7 Wisconsin, led by Running backs Montee Ball and James White,beat Michigan in Ann Arbor 48-28. Ball had 173 yards and 4 Td’s and White had 181 yards and 2 Td’s for the Badgers. The Badgers shut out Michigan in the first half and Michigan couldn’t climb back. Denard Robinsion broke two NCAA records during the game.

#19 Texas A&M upset #8 Nebraska. Taylor Martinez played most of the game injured and at ¾ or ½ speed and the 12th man was the difference for Texas A&M as they win 9-6 in a defensive battle.

#9 Ohio St holds on in Iowa City as they beat Iowa 20-17 and stay alive in the Big Ten Race. Terrelle Pryor threw for just under 200 yards and Dane Sanzenbacher had 102 yards receiving.

#10 Oklahoma St. beats Kansas 48-14 despite losing the nation’s leading receiver, Justin Blackmon, in the 3rd quarter. Oklahoma St. trailed the Jayhawks after the first quarter but Oklahoma St. had 38 unanswered points to seal the deal. The Cowboys move one step closer to the Big 12 title game.

#12 MSU comes back to beat Purdue 35-31. Michigan St moves to 10-1 on the season and is still in the Race for the Big Ten title. MSU quarterback Kirk Cousins had 276 yards along with 3 Td’s to lead the Spartans.

Ryan Mallet and the #13 Arkansas Razorbacks beat #21 Mississippi St. in double overtime 37-30. Mallet threw for 306 yards and 3 Tds and Running back Knile Davis had 191 yards on the ground and ran in for two scores. Arkansas goes to 9-2 while Mississippi St falls to 7-4.

#15 Missouri shuts out Iowa State 14-0. Missouri had less offensive yards than Iowa state but managed to create scoring drive. One thanks to a fake punt. 

#16 Virginia Tech comes alive in the second half to beat #24 Miami 31-17. Virginia Tech secured their spot in the ACC title game after the win. Running back Ryan Williams rushed for 134 yards and two scores to help the Hokies get the win.
#17 South Carolina over powers Troy 69-24. South Carolina had 56 points by halftime and never looked back. Stephen Garcia and the rest of the starting line-up played for only a half but Garcia managed to still throw for 198 and 2 Td’s, Lattimore had 102 yards 3Td’s on 7 carries, and receiver Alshon Jeffery had a 123 yards.

#18 Nevada demolishes New Mexico St 52-6. Nevada had 483 yards on offensive and caused 3 turnovers as the Wolf pack advance to 10-1 and will face Boise St next week in a big WAC matchup.

#25 Florida State beats Maryland in College park 30-16. Chris Ponder threw for only 160 yards but the Florida State Defense caused 4 turnovers against Maryland.  

Florida regroups from the loss to South Carolina and beats Appalachian St 48-10. Quarterback John Brantley had 222 yards passing while other Quarterback Jordan Reed had 71 rushing yards and 3 Td’s.

Notre Dame beats Army 27-3 at Yankee Stadium

Illinois beats Northwestern 48-27 at Wrigley field.
